Prior to joining Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLP, Mr. Kleinman practiced law in
Philadelphia and Chicago, where his practice concentrated in the area of Complex
Litigation, Mass Torts and Class Actions. Mr. Kleinman was appointed to the
Class Counsel Management Committee in Cress, et al. v. Sara Lee Corporation,
Case No. 98 L 15072 (Cir. Ct., Cook County, Ill.) that resulted in a Nationwide
Class Action Settlement. The Cress class action alleged that Sara Lee had
manufactured and distributed over 35 million pounds of BallPark brand hotdogs
and Sara Lee deli meats that were contaminated with the listeria bacteria that
resulted in almost 20 deaths and thousands of injuries. Mr. Kleinman represented
individuals and the members of the settlement class overseeing all aspects of
the litigation from filing the complaint, defending client depositions, issuing
discovery to the Defendants, settlement negotiations and the claims
administration process. For his work in this matter, Mr. Kleinman was asked to
be a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School's Class Action
Controversies Seminar and to discuss the Sara Lee litigation.
In addition, to his work in the Cress matter, he was a member of the law and
briefing committee that successfully obtained class certification in In re
Hartmarx Securities Litigation, Case No. 01 C 7832 (N.D. Ill.). Mr. Kleinman

Mr. Kleinman was also lead counsel in Ostrander v. Secretary of Health and
Human Services, Case No. 05-1046V in the vaccine court of the United States
Court of Federal Claims. Ostrander was settled in a structured settlement with
an estimated value of $2,000,000.
Mr. Kleinman graduated from Ithaca College in 1990. Afterwards he entered The
John Marshall Law School and graduated in 1994. During law school, Mr. Kleinman
was an octo-finalist in the Wagner Moot Court Competition. He was admitted to
the Illinois Bar in November 1994 and the Pennsylvania Bar in 2004.
